Severed HeadsWhen the normal folk listens to Severed Heads the reaction is always (Huh, what the hell is this?). They can sound like just plain noise, then move to heavenly melodies that blend together like creamy butter. Call it what you will but the master mind behind the Australian electronic band Severed Heads is Tom Ellard. I happened to meet Tom back in 1990 in a small industrial dance club in New Brunswick, NJ when the Severed Heads were touring the states. The show was awesome and I was extreemly delighted to actually hang out and talk with Tom for a while before he went on stage. Here is an atmospheric song by Severed Heads called Dressed in Air off their 1987 album Bad Mood Guy.

I remember back in the late 80’s, actually it was 1989 when I first listened to Monkey Gone to Heave by the Pixies. My brother bought the album Doolittle at an alternative record store in New Jersey and when he got home we cranked it up and loved every minute of it.

You just gotta love Radiohead just by the way the belt out these solid underground alternative dreams of music. I can listen to this track over and over again and never get tired of it. The lp “IN/ RAINBOWS” is a melodic trip deep into your head that one can feel outside of their body.

When people think of Human League they talk about hit songs such as “Don’t You Want Me”, “(Keep Feeling) Fascination”, “Mirror Man” and “Human” but fail to realize they were one of the best darkest Electronic bands ever. Check out this early track from 1979 “Path of Least Resistance“.

It’s time to put down your plastic guitar and 3-D glasses and take a dose of reality. Professor Johnny Marr from the *University of Salford by way of The Smiths and now Modest Mouse (WTF?) gives a very intriguing yet entirely esoteric interview on all thing JM. (*Google it you lazy bastard)

Radiohead

                    In Rainbows

                                           Reckoner

All I have to say is that Radiohead is incredibly smooth, melodic and that this musical piece of art is somewhat catchy but yet still alternative. Don’t miss this one!
